The Dance

I smiled, as he dragged me to my feet from the tree stump I had previously been laying on.  

"Come on," he whispered, "no one's here but us..."

He laced his fingers with mine, and wrapped an arm around my waste, pulling me close.  I opened my mouth to say.... something.... my voice was lost as I gazed into his beautiful ruby eyes.

"Shhhhh... don't you say one word.  And, please, don't try to pull away."  With that he bent towards me, and placed a gentle kiss on my neck.  I could feel blood rushing to my face as he started trailing them up to my ear.  He pulled away and ever so slowly, came upon my lips, gently attaching us.  His tongue didn't beg for entry, and his lips did not try part mine.  After what seamed forever, he pulled back and looked at me.  I wanted to say something, anything, but most of all, I wanted him to kiss me again.  

"Do you know how to dance?"  I was unprepared for the question, and could feel my face flush even deeper.  

"Define dancing."  I barely sputtered out.  

A low chuckle began to rise from his throat before he softly spoke, his voice coming out not one octave over a whisper, "Just follow my lead.  It's not that hard."

He took a step back, pulling me with him.  Then a step to the side, again drawing me towards him.  He slowly spun me in place there, and with that simple action, I felt the widest, stupidest grin form on my face.  I let my eyes drop close, laying my arm around his neck, and let him guide me.  Step to step, twirl to separation, then back together, with a kiss on my cheek. Nose, Ear, eyelid, hand.  Each time it was different.  I could follow his pattern easily now, as we danced in the moon light.  

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you too, Vi."  Shadow replied.

He kissed me again, as we whirled around under the starry sky.  And I couldn't help but to think, how gorgeous he was, and how I knew that I wanted to stay with my love forever.

"My Vio" He muttered.
